Do I need a referral?
The short answer is no, you don’t need a referral since Nevada is a direct access state. However some insurance plans require Prior Authorization before starting treatment to receive reimbursement. Call your insurance and check if a physician referral is required for your specific plan.
What will my first visit be like?
Your initial evaluation will be conducted by your Doctor of Physical Therapy in a private treatment room and will cover your current condition(s) and any relevant previous history. You will be able to share your story, ask questions, and voice any concerns about your condition(s). After a thorough conversation, your therapist will offer to perform a physical exam, special tests, and hopefully have time for treatment. You are always in control of what is involved in your evaluation as we recognize how personal Pelvic Physical Therapy can be. You and your therapist will determine the best plan of care for you and follow-up visits will be addressed at this time.
What do I wear and bring to my first visit?
You can wear whatever you’d like! Our patients typically wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing. Please make sure to finish your intake paperwork online to ensure you’re able to take advantage of your entire treatment time once you arrive.
Why should I choose Physical Therapy?
Physical Therapy is a natural, holistic way to treat musculoskeletal dysfunction and pain. Physical Therapists work to correct the underlying cause of the dysfunction and pain as opposed to masking it. In addition to rehabilitation, Physical Therapists are exceptionally well positioned to provide wellness and preventive care.
What insurances do you accept?
EPH currently accepts Hometown, Senior Care Plus, and Prominence. If you do not see your insurance listed, call the member number on the back of your card and inquire about out of network physical therapy benefits. Depending on your plan, you may be able to receive a percentage of the visit costs from your insurance company.
Why don’t you accept every insurance?
We provide one on one care. We are not a high volume facility that utilizes techs, aides, or assistants. Insurance companies who do not provide fair reimbursement for services like ours are not sustainable unfortunately. Going out of network/paying out of pocket may not be as expensive as you think… Most high volume Physical Therapy clinics require 2-3 appointments per week- how quickly are your copays adding up for minimal time with an actual licensed therapist vs a tech or assistant? Do you have a high deductible plan and are paying full price for minimal hands on and no individualized attention? Pelvic Physical Therapy is an extremely unique and demanding specialty, we deeply wish insurance companies would recognize this and reimburse fairly.
